Combat Marine Outdoors
Hi,
Danny Burch here with dandnoutfitters.com just wanting to get some info out on a great program called "Combat Marine Outdoors". It is a non-profit organization that finds places for soldiers that have been wounded from any branch of the military to go hunting. We had the pleasure of hosting a group recently out at the Cannon Ranch in Comfort, TX. It was a great time! A lot of animals were harvested and alot of laughs were had! I believe the total was 2 axis bucks, 3 Fallow bucks, 2 Blackbuck and a huge ram! I missed the flag ceremony (where they presented Mr. Cannon with the American Flag) that brought tears to everyones eyes, but I did see how much it meant to Mr. Cannon to have those guys out there. I encourage, anyone that can, to be a part of some type of program like this. If you want to but dont have the ranch, we can make arrangements for donations to go towards animals that we will stock on our property for the hunt. They use the meat from the animals and put it towards a big cook-out that takes place on the base or hospital grounds to feed all of the soldiers and their families! Food for thought guys....

Thanks so much, Danny. Sounds like a blast in Comfort!
Combat Marine Outdoors were present at the EWA this weekend in Kerrville. We had a chance to hear President, Rusty Hicks, speak about the great things that they are doing in the field for our retuning & wounded Marines. Saturday night, during the grand auction, we all witnessed as a group of 3 Marines performed the "Sacred Ground" & flag ceremony, as a Ka-Bar knife/plaque was auctioned off. The entire banquet hall stood as the normally, lightning fast auctioneer began the auction by quietly asking "who will give $100...?" The auction, moments later, ended at $10,000!! The donor: Kevin Reid, owner of Morani River Ranch, who was presented with the perfectly folded American flag & Ka-Bar knife. It was a pride-filled and emotional experience for everyone in attendance (to say the least).
