I've grown weary of mechanicals only based on my experience w/ their durability. Moving parts only seem to find ways of bending, breaking or malfunctioning. I've gone almost exclusively to fixed blade and have been pleased with the results. I'm currently shooting Muzzy 100 gr that hold up well on every animal type I've shot with them (axis, wt, hogs and small game). A little sharpening after shooting is generally it. No one shot and it's all over anymore!

I have to say that Tru-Fire Switchblades are my favorite, even though they are mechanicals because of their design they are virtually indistructable and after recovery when other mechanicals have to be taken apart and cleaned and blades changed the Switchblades just need washed off and reset thats it! (Oh and resetting is as simple as pulling the tip out, its ready to do the job again!)
